Going To War: Norwalk Public Library/First Friday Film Event Nov 2

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2018 NORWALK PUBLIC LIBRARY ONE BELDEN AVENUE 6PM TO 8PM

November is Veterans and Military Families Month, so this First Friday, November 2, Norwalk Public Library will screen a moving documentary from co-executive producers Sebastian Junger and Karl Marlantes. They both bring firsthand experience, hard won wisdom, and an abiding commitment to telling the warrior’s story.

The program will begin at 6:00 with an introduction by Mayor Harry Rilling and film consultant Wendy Bromley Bodden. Immediately following the 60 minute film, Wendy will facilitate a conversation with Joshua Rodriguez, Army veteran, Jeff DeWitt, Air Force veteran, retired Chief Master Sergeant, and Julie Heller Air Force veteran.

The film illuminates the experiences of training, battle, and coming home for soldiers across conflicts, revealing the universals of the warrior’s journey. What better time to reflect on their journey than this month when Americans celebrate all of our veterans.
